OBE
In March 2002 Nigel was awarded the OBE for his ‘outstanding contribution to occupational health and safety'.

Institution of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH)
Nigel is a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Health and Safety. During the IOSH organised People to People Ambassador Programme to China in 1998, Nigel led the delegation which visited the Chinese Trade Union Federation in Beijing. He is currently a member of the Communication and International Committee and an IOSH representative on the Management Board of the Safety and Health Practitioner.

Peer Recognition
In March 2000, Nigel was awarded the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accident’s (RoSPA) Distinguished Service Award for his services to health and safety. In July 2003 Nigel was accepted at the Fellow Grade in the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Following IOSH receiving the Royal Charter, Nigel is now a Chartered Fellow.
